What are the study options for languages at the University of Toronto?
There are many programs that include the study of a language. There are 4 options: a specialist, major, minor, and language certificate.
What is a language certificate?
Certificates have 2.0-3.0 credits. A completed certificate will be indicated on your transcript.
Why complete a language certificate?
Since language certificates are on your transcript, they will provide official documentation of some competency in a language. For language certificates, if you start with no prior exposure to the language you will have achieved an intermediate competency.
